There have been a number of sightings since Madeleine vanished.

In Portugal polices initially swooped on a petrol station near Lagos after CCTV footage showed a girl similar to Madeleine. And a Dutch tourist reported seeing her in a gypsy cart in Portimao.

In Morocco, Marie Olli claimed to have seen Madeleine at petrol station in Marrakech.

And Spanish tourist Isabel Gonzalez said she saw the little girl being dragged across a street in Zaio by a North African woman.

There were a string of Madeleine sighting in Malta in June. And two women claimed they saw her at a petrol station in Cartagena, Spain, in August.
